At the Film School at Odder Hojskole you will have time and possibility to explore the world of film and artistic effects. You will get hands-on experience with film and TV-production. You do not need to be a professional, but we expect you to have ambition and drive.

We work with analysis, storytelling and different techniques, you will become part of a film team and create your own movies.

The Danish Film Institute (Det Danske Filminstitut) mentions Odder Hojskole as giving its students the possibility to be part of the film narrative in the future. This is because the course is designed and led by people in the film business who are very enthusiastic about the concept and about working with students.

Some of our students have worked with film making at school or come from film institutes abroad. Others are taking a break from University or have way different professional backgrounds as for instance carpenter , ocean biologist, or a UN-soldier. However, they all share the passion for film making.

In addition to our regular subjects you can also choose our Ø-subjects Video Art, Film and Theater. An Ø-subject is different from other subjects in that you have it for an entire week. A semester at Odder Folk High School is made out of three modules in which you have regular classes. However, each time a module ends an Ø-week begins, which means one whole week of delving into one Ø-subject that you have chosen.
